Saxo Bank's Chief Economist leaves the company

International broker and Danish bank Saxo Bank has announced that Steen Jakobsen, Chief Economist and Chief Investment Officer, is leaving the company after more than 20 years.

During his 20 years at Saxo Bank, Steen Jakobsen has held various positions and has been instrumental in building the company's reputation for in-depth financial research and analysis.

Under Steen's leadership, the Saxo Strats research team has become synonymous with influential market analysis and thought leadership, significantly enhancing the value of Saxo Bank's offerings to clients around the world.

Peter Garnry, Head of Equity Strategy, was appointed Head of SaxoStrats last year, ensuring continuity of leadership and the team's commitment to excellence in hands-on market research.

"Steen has been a major figure in making Saxo Bank a trusted resource for investors and traders, combining macroeconomic research with practical trading insights. He is the author of the popular Outrageous Predictions, which is second to none when it comes to stimulating critical thinking and challenging the consensus. I want to express my deep gratitude to Steen for his contributions over more than two decades. He has been instrumental in growing Saxo from a small broker to a global leader in our industry with more than 1.2 million clients and DKK 750 billion in client assets," said Kim Fournais, CEO and founder of Saxo.

"Over the years, I have had the pleasure of working with a number of outstanding people, not least my colleagues at SaxoStrats. Our goal has always been to challenge conventional thinking and provide a deeper understanding of the markets. I am proud of what we have achieved together, and I am confident that Saxo and the Strats team will continue to play their part in helping investors make sense of the complexities of the financial markets," commented Steen Jakobsen on his departure.
