Interactive Brokers: American Express cards expand trading opportunities in Latin America
Interactive Brokers has authorized Latin American and Caribbean residents to apply for the American Express International Dollar Card.
The Interactive Brokers American Express card allows its users to borrow and spend money anywhere in the world where American Express cards are accepted.
Requirements to get a card:
• The net liquidation value of the IBKR account must be at least $50,000.
• A copy of your passport and IBKR account number, as well as proof of residential address (e.g., water, gas, electricity, landline phone bill for the last 60 days).
The American Express International Dollar Card offers:
• 24/7 customer service: service is available 24/7 in English, Spanish, and Portuguese;
• Travel benefits: travel accident insurance, rental car loss and damage insurance, etc.;
• No pre-set spending limit: allows you to spend more than you planned, giving you greater financial flexibility;
• Membership Rewards program: allows you to redeem your membership points and earn rewards.
The broker notes that residents of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands are not eligible to apply for Interactive Brokers' American Express card.
