Sam Eder, CEO of OANDA, has left the company after seven years to launch Marketmate and its eponymous trader-focused website.

Sam Eder joined OANDA in 2016 and spent the last two years as the company's Head of Emerging Markets. Sam began his career in the financial markets in 2008 when he joined GFT Markets Australia.

In 2014, Eder started his own business, FX Renew, which provided trading signals generated by former employees of investment banks and hedge funds. However, he sold his company in May 2019.

It is currently unknown what the new company will focus on, as marketmate.com is still under development.

However, many believe that it will either be an independent FX/CFD brand or, like FX Renew, a service designed to support retail investors or brokers themselves.

Broker OANDA is registered in the United States and offers its clients a wide range of financial services in most countries around the world. The company was founded in 1996 and is currently regulated in four jurisdictions.
