eToro warns of limitations during ETH network upgrade
Broker eToro is warning its users that the Ethereum blockchain (ETH) will undergo a scheduled Dencun network upgrade.
The Dencun upgrade of the Ethereum blockchain will reduce fees on Level-2 networks. Dencun was originally scheduled to take place in October 2023, but due to issues in 10 testnets, the upgrade was pushed back to 2024.
The upgrade is expected to take place on March 13, 2024, at epoch 2,695,682, at approximately 13:55 UTC.
The broker warns that the service of sending cryptocurrency to the eToro Money crypto wallet for ETH will be unavailable from 12:55 UTC on March 13th and during the fork.
Coin transfer services for ETH will be limited from 10:00 UTC until the upgrade is complete, and coin transfer requests will be delayed until the network is deemed stable.
In addition, ERC-20 token-sending services will not be available during this time.
ETH trading will continue as usual when the network is stable. If the network is declared unstable, ETH trading services will be disabled until the network stabilizes.
