Interactive Brokers expands capabilities of TWS platform
Interactive Brokers has released beta version 10.29 of its TWS trading platform.
According to the broker, the new version fixes inaccuracies in the portfolio performance profile and adds a Mutual Funds Swap feature.
Mutual Funds Swap. The fund swap feature allows clients to exchange all or part of a long mutual fund position for another fund in the same fund family; the funds must also be in the same currency. The broker notes that exchanges can result in lower fees and lower tax implications. In addition, users can execute an exchange in a single action, rather than selling, waiting for the transaction to settle, and making a new purchase.
The broker has corrected a number of errors and inaccuracies in the Portfolio Performance Profile:
- Performance data was not calculated correctly.
- The Portfolio Performance Profile displayed inaccurate cash breakdown values.
Interactive Brokers emphasized that it will continue to improve its TWS platform as well as the performance profile feature in all linked instruments.
The broker had previously added a Futures Roll feature to its TWS platform, which significantly reduced the number of transactions required to roll over a futures position, as well as a Tax Loss Harvesting Tool.
