IG Group prepares to launch options trading in the UK
IG Group, one of the UK's leading brokerage firms, has opened a UK options waiting list.
The move is part of the company's strategy to significantly expand its operations under the Tastytrade brand, which it acquired more than two years ago.
IG Group's expansion into the UK options market is in line with the company's strategy. The Tastytrade brand will offer trading tools as well as educational content. The service is due to be officially launched in London in early June, together with the Delicioustrade organization and in partnership with Cboe and CME Group.
Options trading is becoming increasingly popular around the world, particularly in the US and India, where traders use options to speculate on market indices and stocks. IG Group faces some challenges in adapting the US options trading model to the UK market, but intends to make the project a success.
The broker's partnership with Unusual Whales last month gave users the ability to trade directly on the options platform using Tastytrade accounts. This partnership promises to provide traders with a deeper understanding of the market and an enhanced trading experience.
Scott Sheridan, CEO of Tastytrade, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, noting that they are fans of the transparency that Unusual Whales brings to the market, and that integrating their tools into the Unusual Whales platform will help provide users with enhanced trading information.
