Interactive Brokers expands offerings with listed derivatives Bursa Malaysia

Interactive Brokers, a leading global brokerage firm, announced that its clients can now access derivatives listed on Bursa Malaysia. This initiative allows traders to trade Crude Palm Oil (FCPO) futures and FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (FKLI) futures, among other products.

The inclusion of these new derivatives significantly expands Interactive Brokers' already extensive portfolio of global equities, options, futures, currencies, bonds and funds. The FCPO contract deserves special attention as it serves as a global price benchmark for the crude palm oil market, a key commodity in global trade. At the same time, the FKLI contract allows investors to access the underlying constituents of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite index, a key indicator of market performance in Malaysia.

David Friedland, head of APAC at Interactive Brokers, expressed the company's enthusiasm for the new offerings. "The introduction of derivatives listed on Bursa Malaysia underscores our commitment to expanding the range of products available on our platform. Interactive Brokers' clients around the world can trade in over 150 markets using a wide range of trading instruments, and we are pleased to add these new products to further enhance our clients' trading capabilities and strategies," Friedland said.

The move reflects Interactive Brokers' strategy to continuously expand its products, providing clients with access to a wide range of trading instruments from around the world. In addition, the addition of Bursa Malaysia derivatives to the platform provides clients with more diversified trading opportunities, especially in the Asia-Pacific region.

Interactive Brokers said that this is just the beginning of its expansion into Bursa Malaysia products. The company plans to introduce additional Bursa Malaysia derivatives in the future, further cementing its position as a leading global broker with one of the most comprehensive product sets available to traders.

The inclusion of these derivatives is expected to attract a wider range of investors, especially those interested in commodities and indices from regional markets in Southeast Asia. Given the growing importance of Asia-Pacific markets, Interactive Brokers' entry into the Bursa Malaysia listed derivatives market allows the company to capitalize on the growing demand for access to these markets.

Overall, this marks a significant step in the realization of Interactive Brokers' mission to provide its clients with unprecedented access to the global financial markets by offering a diverse set of instruments to suit different trading strategies and investment objectives.
