Saxo Bank Japan launches foreign index options trading

Saxo Bank Securities Ltd., the Japanese unit of Saxo Bank in Denmark, has announced the expansion of its investment offering.

Effective January 10, 2024, the company has given its clients access to trading in foreign index options, which are linked to the performance of various equity indices listed on US exchanges.

This initiative aims to provide clients with more diversified investment opportunities.

Now, Saxo Bank Japan clients have access to:

• S&P 500 Index - SPX

• SPX Weekly - SPXW

• S&P 500 Mini Index - XSP

• Dow Jones Industrial Average Index - DJX

• Nasdaq 100 Index - NDX

• Nasdaq 100 Index Weekly - NDXP

• Nasdaq 100 Micro Index - XND

• Russell 2000 Index - RUT

• Russell 2000 Index Weekly - RUTW

• MSCI Emerging Markets Index - MXEF

• Volatility Index - VIX

• Volatility Index - Weekly - VIXW

• Nanos S7P 500 Index - NANOS

• NASDAQ 100 Reduced Value Index - NQX

The broker points out that clients can trade options on foreign indices using their US dollar accounts or Japanese yen accounts.

In addition, the statement says that there are no differences in trading procedures, fees, etc., but there are differences from trading foreign stock options, such as settlement method, execution, maturity, and handling at the time of execution.
